I don't understand the rear suspension knob on my NON-ES

Hey guys,

I know I can turn the knob right or left to adjust the rear suspension, but there's no way to like "keep the settings". For example, if I adjust the suspension for my girlfriend and I and then I plan to ride solo, how can I know how to go back to the setting pre-girlfriend?

Thank you,

If you are referring to the preload there is a pointer and lines to show your settings. If you are talking about damping, you will have to count clicks and remember how many you prefer for solo and 2 up riding.
I don't have the pointer on my bike. It's weird. Is it on the knob it self?

No it is off to the side. Chrome color with black lines and one red line. It is near the top by the knob. The knob clicks about every 1/2 turn so count the clicks. This is for preload.

Ok, here is a shot on a 2017. Should be the same. The scale is easily seen above and to the left of center. Top of shock facing to the rear. Took this photo just after I replaced the stock yellow spring with this one. Was a life saver for the weight I had on the trip to Alaska.

It looks like you have the Eagle Mike knob, too. I had to wait a long time until he produced a new batch to get mine.

For the OP, you might want to see if you can order one. Many have had issues with the plastic knob wearing out inside and not adjusting as intended (turning somewhat freely without result). Mike's is aluminum and shouldn't have that problem. It can be found here - https://eaglemike.com/shop/ols/products/preload-adjustment-knob---in-stock

Totally agree. Take your knob off and see if the plastic is broken on the inside. Mine broke and just spun and spun.
