I've had my fresh out of the crate 13 for a few weeks - just did my first oil and gear oil change. I have been riding since 1974 with twenty years off raising kiddos.
I used this forum and others to research for six months - you see this is my very first new bike. I've been relearning riding and care on an old BMW k100 but I spent more time working on it than riding.
Anyway out of the Explorers, stelvios, caponards and beemers- I decided on the Super
Tenere. I had to wait and see the new FJ and Versys in person but as soon as I hopped on the s10 I knew it was for me. I couldn't stop smiling.
Planning for a Big Bend trip with my son on his f700gs in April - life is good.

Howdy from Sacramento CA!!!

I will be in your area late April / May, as soon as my Tenere is out of the shop. I will be riding the Rio Grande River beginning El Paso and ending at the Gulf of Mexico. Planning on spending time in the beautiful Big Bend area. Have friends in Live Oak where I will be spending a week or two. Maybe we will cross paths.

Anyway here I am on the way home. A really nice ride with my son sharing duties. (Cause the old guy gets cold and tired)
We are planning a Big Bend trip in April - one of may in the area I hope. I've traveled many of those roads but never all the way to the park.

Welcome from a fellow NOOB and former Texan! Nice looking bike! I sat on one exactly like that at my local dealer last year at this time but was not ready for a big bike yet. Congrats and hope you are able to avoid the multitudes of Hill Country deer during the rides! You are gonna love Big Bend!
