Doug Vance here from Cordova, TN. Hello everyone. New to the forum. Finalized a deal today on a 2013 Super Tenere. Pick it up on Monday. Not only do I plan to learn from each of you from your experiences, I intend to share my Tenere experiences, and I hope to ride with some of you in the near future. Life is short, enjoy it while you can. I can think of no better way than exploring more of this great country of ours on two wheels. Looking forward to being a part of Team Tenere!

Yep patrickg450, 1st adventure bike. Have a touring bike, a cruiser, and a ZRX. Get to mix it up at Bike Night on Beale during the summer. Miles have been on pavement; TX Hill Country to FL Keys and points in between. Lots of great rides and memories on paved roads. Did trail riding on an enduro as a kid in the mountains of NC. Only thing I can say is with the bikes I have, at times I have flashbacks of when I was a little kid and before I learned how to swim, I would stand at the rope, water up to my chin, and watch the kids in the deep end having a blast. That's what I see without an adventure bike when the pavement ends. I can now go in the deep end again.

Welcome Doug from Centerville! You'll enjoy the Tenere and rides with Patrick are a blast. Crash bars and skid plate are good ideas for when you pop your cherry in the dirt.

Welcome to the forum Doug. The Super Ten is a great tool for letting you take what ever path you want to follow. Wear out those oem tires and put something more aggressive on for the off pavement riding. And ditto on the crash protection/skid plate. Cheap insurance for those dirt naps we all take. :D

Appreciate the welcome and tips. Picked up the bike 2 weeks ago. Previous owner just got the title from the bank so I should get it any day now, then get it tagged and on the road ... or off the road. Looking forward to the rides.
