Hope you like it, I went from a ZZR1400 to a GS, and then the S10. I also fancied the MTS but they had just come out when I was looking to sell the ZZR and the cost was way over budget, a long test ride on a GS sold it to me (well two rides, was not sure after first hour, so dealer offered it to me for a half day)

I also changed my roads, swapping A and Faster B Roads for predominantly unclassified roads and single track lanes, where I live this meant going from always coming up behind cars and having 75% of bends ruined to being able to ride for ages without seeing a car. The S10 is also great for really long runs and in the mountains.

Still fancy a MTS or KTM1190, but not the running costs and reliability worries that doing big miles on such exotica would bring.

I have done some work on handling and power instead of trading in, this is now the bike I have kept for the longest period and have no intention of getting rid of anytime soon.

Welcome along Buntsb, I'm sure you will really enjoy your S10 ::008::

I'm interested to hear what the issue was with the Explorer XC
the explorer was far to top heavy brakes were poor and a lot of drive shaft noise and clunky gearbox

Thanks for the reply :)

I'm guessing you owned the Explorer for a while and would therefore have expected the gear selection to improve with age, I owned a Tiger 1050 back in 2007 which had a gearbox that constantly refused to select neutral, it had to go

I've heard of the 'obvious' Explorer issues but wasn't aware that the final shaft drive was noisy.
