Heated Grip - electrical connections

have had my heated grip kit for some time - worried about the problems others had with throttle housing but got by that w/o problems and thought I was home free as no one has posted any question about making the electrical connections but I can not figure this out. Page 14 of directions has me running left grip, right grip and control harness down along the front of the gas tank, over the top of the battery then up slightly BUT the figure 20-A seems to indicate I should find connections for blue, white, gray and black connectors somewhere prior to the top of the battery (and my wires from the grips & controller are not long enough to make the full run as described). So, where do I find the connections to plug in the left, right & controller connections? I don't know where these are? Then direction 12 on this page, say locate the spare power connector and remove the dust plug and references figure 20-B. This seems to be in front and above battery. In this location I find a clear plug with 4 prongs and a white with 3 - but these don't appear as they are designed to plug to each other - so where is the "spare power connector with the dust cover". I failed to read ahead and try to locate where the wires would eventually connect - thought this was the easy plug and play part - now it makes no sense. Help. Anyone who can provide some input - I am not good at the forum yet so maybe e-mail me directly - thanks.

Are you sure your heated grip kit is complete? You should have a short loom with connector that mates to the spare 4-pin plug. This loom has four individual connectors at the other end that connect to you grip and controller unit connectors. The loom supplied with the heated grip kit is routed from the spare 4-pin plug from the bike harness, over the battery to the grip and controller connectors.

4 pin plug with dust cap is the right one for the grips, 3 pin is for aux lights, as above sounds like summits missing

RMac & Big Den - thanks much. Yep - the loom was missing. Strange the directions fail to even mention this part - it is however listed as part of the kit. Again, thanks. Problem solved and hands are warm.
