When will a company address the need for a wicked Heads Up Display for motorcycles?

Recon has the technology for the enormous market niche of winter sports.
Obviously you could wear their goggles in a MX helmet?, but I want this info integrated into my full face shield.

Who wouldn't want to have access to vital information?

I sent Recon an email last year.
Their response was nothing.

Are there any other firms working on addressing the street rider?

I did software work briefly for a vendor doing heads up display technology for motorcycles a few years back. The technical problems are extremely challenging and none of the helmet mfgs have so far been willing to ante up to the kind of integration required to make this technology work well.

There is also the issue of finding the "killer app" for this technology - what kind of information is of such high value that putting it in a HUD makes it worth the trouble over a conventional display? I personally don't think displaying standard instrument panel stuff (speed, tach, gear, etc.) is this killer app and when you get into stuff like GPS guidance, the UI issues get much harder because the display must be part of a larger UI interface between the rider and system.

This may be coming at some point, but I suspect it will be part of a highly integrated package involving the motorcycle mfg, helmet mfg, GPS vendor, and communications vendor, not an aftermarket add-on.
