I ride at mostly 6500' to 9500' exclusively. I have settled on 1/2 turn on the air screw and CO at +3. I do not use any additional tubing. I return all the connections to stock. This is not something that will require much adjustment once you have settings you like. BTW: Only a little decel pop which seems normal and not excessive.
Welcome to the forum!!! Where did you buy your SuperT? I was at Apex last Thursday and one of the employees I was talking to said mine was the first he had seen.

After I get out and test mine again, I may back mine off to the 1/2 turn (presently at 3/4) and try the CO at +3.

Okay - for those of you that have purchased/used the new Harmonizer TBS gadget, tell me how you did the adjustment.

Did you simply balance using the original factory settings or did you first tweak each TB 3/4 turn CCW and then balance? 3/4 turn, then balanced. About how much did you have to adjust the "non-master" TB to sync? Closed it approximately 1/2 turn. At what RPM did you make your check and adjustment? Idle only.

And last, did you hook the unit up directly to the throttle bodies or did you use extension hoses like have been discussed here? The first time I hooked the Harmonizer up directly. When I saw in the factory manual that Yamaha had it's own extension hose "tool" that included the intake pressure sensor, I made my own. The difference was only 3 millibars when I included the sensor using the extension. I removed the extension after the adjustment, returning the vacuum lines to the factory configuration.

As I have mentioned in other threads, my adjustment went bad, resulting in poor performance, back-firing, significant "stumble" at some RPM ranges and loss off fuel mileage. Before I delve into the CO adjustment, I need to make sure my TBS is at least close. I've noticed that I have some overrun upon deceleration, which sounds like an extremely muted tumbling/popping. It's almost imperceptible. My mileage has slightly improved.

Thanks!

Got mine at Rocky Mountain Cycle Plaza. Another guy at work got one there also. Sold my 08 GS Adventure to get it. Going up to Woodland Park this Sat to check out this event http://www.woodlanddirtfest.com/. Maybe see ya up there?

I ran two tanks out today. First tank yielded 41.34 mpg. Second tank was 40.70. Quite an improvement going from 7 on the CO to 5!
Big difference in mpg!

The bike still has an annoying flat spot between 3 and 4K rpm's that I'm noticing more and more as I put more miles on it.

I think a PC V is in my future unless yamaha has some kind of a fix like Suzuki had for the '05 DL 1000.

Overall, I love the bike. Just not a big fan of the fuel mapping.

When you guys did the TBS wit hthe Harmonizer what mapping did you have the bike set on T or S. Or does it make any difference on which map the biek is running on?

Yes, I remember RMCP from when I lived in the area. I bought several bikes from them years ago and when they were "Colorado Honda".

No, I won't be down - but looks like a neat event.

I doubt it makes a difference, but mine was in the T mode.

Rod, where are you at with your bike? Did you get it all fixed up or did you just put it back to stock settings? Where are you at with it today?

From my post above: "Still don't know what the correct recepie is going to be for us fiolks at higher elevations - or if it even makes a difference. This morning I installed the smaller tubing, set the CO setting to +3, re-checked the TBS and took a short ride. It seems to run better and less stumble. Hard to tell if all the back fire is gone until I can find a steep hill to come down. Buttoned it all back up and then decided to set the CO to +6, but did not ride after the last tweak."
Weather has turned cool here and I'm now fighting a cold, so not sure when I will be out riding again.

Rod,

I'll be taking a ride this afternoon to the top of Mt. Lemmon, so I'll be up to around 9500'. I'll let you know what I find out.

Saw my first snow last night around 9PM at the "Ike" tunnel. About 37 and a downpour all the way from Grand Junction home to Loveland. What a pain.

No...I wasn't on my Tenere. In the Wrangler....complete with heat.

Back on topic, I'm pretty sure that part of the troubles some of us (not I) are having comes from leaving the tubing rig attached to simplify future adjustment. It would seem that the tubing would present itself as a "reservoir" as it were that would affect changes(at least in terms of response time) in pressure(positive or negative) to the idle circuits. Just a thought. We need someone who knows more than I to give a yea or nay.

I got my Harm-O-Nizer yesterday and will fool with it this weekend. I plan to go 1/4 out and +2 CO, initially. I think this will give me the room in adjustment to balance TB's properly and still enrichen the idle a little. Then I'll advance the settings incrementally until it starts to run crappy, then back to where it runs good again. I'll try to quantify my results as I go and add to the database on the forum.

This winter brings a PCV/Autotune/pipe. By then there should be some good research available on the best package, maps and all that.
That's when the fun starts and the bike gets to rock a little.

I'm back. No CEL issues, or problems of any kind. It worked just like it does at 3000', but I noticed that the power was way down from the reduced O2. I did a number of long downhill decelerations, and got the same heavily muted tumbling sound from the overrun.

I recommend removing the extensions if you haven't already.

I can't imagine that riding Mt. Lemmon in the snow would be much fun, particularly on a street bike. That sounds like a real adventure!

Does anyone have access to an exhaust gas analyzer? That would be the best way to tweak the CO2 setting, IMHO. Plus, it would be interesting to see what effect the different CO2 settings have on the actual exhaust emissions.

The last couple of days has been mostly drizzle and generally crappy weather, so I have not ridden since my last tweak of the TB and setting the CO to +6. It seems hard to understand that the extra tubing for the extensions would cause that much trouble when you consider all the V-Stroms running around with extensions too with no apparent problems.

I started with 3/4 on both. At balance, the non-standard TB was turned back CW something less than 1/4 turn.
