At the clamping part of the handlebar, is the diameter 1" or 7/8"???

Jeff, the bars are 1.125" diameter at the clamps. Just like protapers.
I have already checked into this and Wasp has verified it for me.

If you are looking into risers, Rox 2" x 1.125" x 1.125" will work according to AltRider or you could go with the 1" block spacer riser.

Yep they are fat bars as standard. I doubt that you'd need to put risers on it. I certainly wouldn't.

Lot's of folks have already found the need to put on risers. I would imagine it depends a lot on not only one's height, but riding posture. Lot's of standing and the bars generally need some additional rise compared to stock rise. If hwy touring is one's preference, then yes, it would be less likely for the average sized person to want or need additional rise.

If one thinks they would like to add rise, it might be a good option to put on a cheap 1" - 2" tall fatbar riser to try it out before dropping coin on the Rox risers, taller lower clamps, or another more expensive system. Tusk makes some $19.99 risers that are 30mm tall (1.2"). I've used them on various bikes to verify the rise felt as I wanted it to and verify cable/wire lengths were compatible with that amount of rise before buying tall replacement lower clamps. I've never owned Rox risers, but think they are great since they not only give some bar rise, but can also adjust to open up or close down the cockpit by moving the bars in several different direction to improve the desired reach. It's nice the Yamaha used the 1 1/8" (1.125") fatbars rather than 7/8".

Good, I already have the Pro Taper adapters. Yippie. In addition, I have a set of black Contour Raptor Bend bars I may add to it ONLY because they are black.

the Raptor bend bars along with the adapters gave me 2.5" of increase which i truely liked. I don't think as much height is going to be needed on the Tenere after my 30 second sit on the bike. The ergo of bars to my torso seemed almost the same as the STrom with the Raptors.

We will see!!! But I do like the thought of the black bars on the black bike. Oh, and my ASV short levers will work wonderfully on there!!! I kept those from the VEE!!!

That is great news on your comparison between Raptor bend with risers on the Strom and the stock S10 bars and no risers. If that is the case, I may not need risers at all.

Jeff, how tall are you?

The Rox do look like pure moto porn though. 8)

I am 6'2" with a 32-33 inseam for comparison. I fall right between tall shirts and regular height shirts, they are either too long, or too short particularly after a dryer baking.

Well, you tower over me at 5'9" but I have long arms so maybe we have similar ergos for bar fit.

i propbably have a few pounds on you, as i am tipping #325 but proportioned even, no gut hanging over belt line. That maybe is one reason i like to sit as upright as possible to reduce back strain.

Has anyone taken the bar ends off of the bike? What is the diameter of the rubber expander thing that holds this in? I want to know for sake of my Pro Taper Bars I have in the garage!!!
