Hi there,

I bought a S10 last week and I still have my 2008 versys fully farkled that I have put on sale...meanwhile I was trying to get the maximum accessories from versys to fit them into the S10...

the issue I am having is that I have already the yamaha OEM side and top boxes...but I really liked touring with the V35..design, look and aerodynamics..so I wondered if I could install them on the S10...has anyone done that before??? because if it doesn't work with S10 then they will have to be sold as well to recover some of the cash...

Thanks

Have not seen any racks for the V35 on the S10. The V35 look good and I have seen a few on craigslist for sail but no S10 racks.

I bought a set of used E36 and the Givi rack and they look great on the Gray 2014 ES. Also work good and hold a lot.

Aerodynamic side cases look really nice, I had them on the FRJ. The problem is they make it hard to fit larger square items, laptops in particular, without angling them and taking up way more space than they need to. For this reason, I stuck with the OEM side cases but will add a Givi topcase.

I had them on my Versys 1000, sold them with the bike on leaving the UK. How have S10 and was thinking the same thing but it seems Givi don't do a rack to fit them.
Will watch as the V35's are a lot cheaper than the others.

I bought a set of V35's for good price -
Also now trying to see to get racks - the available racks is for other bikes especially dual pipe bikes

My S10 have the racks for teh OEM panniers - thinking of modding them.

Purificator, did you do the mod on the racks?

Be interested to hear how this played out.

My S10 is coming later this month and i have kappa k33s (givi v35s with a marginally different lid to justify the lower price) that i would love to use.

I emailed Givi a few days ago to see if they can offer frames - not had a reply. I think the issue is that the lower part of the pannier rack needs to be closer to the rear wheel than the top (since the back of panniers are sculpted, not flat). This feels pretty incompatible with the S10's large and low exhaust.

If your V35 cases are Monokey surely they will fit the PL2119 rapid detachable pannier system or PL2119 fixed system from Givi

I have a PL 2119 rack system fitted to my 2014 ZE and use Monokey Trekker cases ::008::

If you visit the Givi site and select "my motorcycle" then the options available to you will be shown

I don't think the V35 cases will fit the Yamaha OEM case fitment

The v35's mount on a different system "monokey side", not "monokey".

See comments on this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/PL367-Monokey-Pannier-Yamaha-Tenere/dp/B00AKB2598

I assume the pl2119 is also monokey rather than monokey side?

I have to ask...how big is this laptop of yours? ;D
I use GIVI E45s (monokey) and everything fits except the kitchen sink.

I'm not familiar with the V35's but they are the contoured cases, and not the flat type like the E35's. They would work well on the pipe side, but not all that well on the right hand side. I'm not even sure if givi makes racks that fit the tenere, and the contoured bags.

Just be careful what you buy, the PLR367 replaced the PL 367 and is for the 2010-2013 MY, or the 2014 NON ES, the PL2119 CAM is for the ES version. I almost bought the 2119!!

A guideline to getting racks for thr V35 or Kappa 33 panniers is the racks model number should start with PLX and the different numerals for different bikes. All the PLX models have a curved form

PLR is quick release racks.

Saw a gew PLXR

Thats just my humble opinion fter going through the different websites.

Thanks - hadn't appreciated the 2014 non ES and ES versions. PLX sounds right - that is what i have at present on my DL1000.

I finally got a response from Givi today:

My question: "I have a Givi V46 top box and V35 cases. I wish to fit these to the bike I am about to purchase [specified as XT1200Z 2014] but I cannot find a compatible frame for the side cases on your website. Please can you advise if one is available? Thanks Andy

Givi reply: "We are due to release a range of luggage for your motorcycle. The best way to keep up to date with any new product releases, is by regularly checking the “my motorcycle” section on the Givi website: www.givi.co.uk"

I am not sure this really answers the question I asked!

From some initial reading i am leaning towards selling my current panniers and buying replacements - possibly the Bumot ones.

Great customer service eh? ::009::

Just get the PL or PLR 2119 Cam and get any box you want, just get a mounting kit, that way you can mix and match.

I really like these:
