The only time I use my gear indicator is to confirm I'm in neutral. I can't use my ears, 'cuz I have my music up. And I'll sometimes glance at the tach. But after you get used to her, you'll feel if you're in the right gear. . . . immediately.

I don’t think that’s a fair comment about the sarcastic replies as my reading of them just took it to be good humour and what works for them.
I didn’t answer as I don’t use one And have no desire to get one. I can get annoyed easily when I ask a question in good faith of getting a response and you don’t get anything that works for you… such is the nature of forums. At least there were no downright nasty or utterly stupid ones in there.

If you’re still on the hunt at this time and maybe want to correct the speedometer as well, have a look at this mob: https://www.healtech-electronics.com/

I’ve used the Speedo healer on all my bike’s and they’re fantastic and the installation instructions are spot on. They do other things like gear displays etc and they’re worth a look.

From my perspective, I highly recommend them.

As for being in Wales, I’ll probably be over there again next year and going for a ride past to check out the South. The mob I hired my last bike from in Edinburgh were great so I’d probably do that again.

Still think your tac and ear will do just fine. My Road Kind did not have a gear indicator or tac. You adapt. Like Larry the Cable guy says
