I cometh a humbled man to ye old forum....

I'm adding Protaper ADV high bars and have an issue with the throttle cable housing after I decided to upgrade to the G2 Ergo tube.. For some reason the throttle tube keeps sticking and doesn't return to the closed position.

I have removed the small locating pin so that's not an issue. The cables are well lubed and move freely when the top portion of the cable housing is not in place... but it starts when the housing is fully installed.

Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have factory heated grips? If so, check routing (and lubrication) of RH grip wiring inside the throttle cable housing. If no heated grips, I'd look closely and make sure throttle cables are properly seated on the housing.

G2 helped me out.... I'll pass along what they said:

1. make sure the locating pin is ENTIRELY removed. Even 0.5mm of uneven metal can cause a tolerance issue and WILL cause binding.

2. Adjust the throttle cable and make sure you have plenty of slack- 3 to 5 mm.

I took a dremel and made sure that the pin was gone, and in fact, no trace of it ever existing.
