Hi Everyone,
I've had around 4 tanks of gas. When I fill up the gauge shows full. I ride and notice that I have 80 to 90 miles on it and it still shows full. Then in the next 10 or so miles it
goes down 2 bars at once. It is accurate and acts normally the rest of the tank. I asked at the dealer and they never heard of it. Anybody have this issue? Is it normal?
On another subject. I noticed my right foot peg doesn't have that feeler peg that the left one does. I looked closer and its not even machined to take one. I've never seen
this on any other bike. I checked the Tenere's at the dealership and they didn't have one either. Anybody else notice this?
Cheers

Missing feeler peg...check. Normal.

Fuel gauge...not so normal. Should not go down 2 bars at once.

My ST is the about the same for fuel indication and the same for the right side peg having no feeler. Thanks for pointing that out because I never noticed that I had no "sensor" on the right.

Well I'm not sure I'm going to worry about the gauge. As long as it does it at the top it doesn't matter. With the peg, maybe they don't think the tenere can lean that far to
the right. Thanks for the reply's!

I've had my bike for 14 months now and coming from a trail bike background, I always used the sidestand. I would often get confusing indications from the fuel guage until I realised that it reads differnetly on the sidestand to the centrestand when the bike is first started. The sidestand always reads lower than it is and after starting the bike and riding for a kilometer or so it would show a higher (correct) level. Using the centrestand this doesn't happen.

So! I'm not sure if I've answered you question or not!

Cheers

Apparently the sensor on the left is due to the centre stand sticking out more on that side. They didn't put one on the right because it's not needed, apparently. I still think it would look better with them on both sides. People who follow me say it looks odd ::)

Oh ... don't you worry about it ... she'll definitely take you all the way over to the right peg. When you touch down there, which is not a good idea, the peg will pivot upwards and wake you up. On the other side, the feeler is there to warn you before the stand hardware touches down, which is a crash situation.

I don't think it looks odd at all.

??? if it bugs you that much buy a sensor, drill and tap the right peg and install it. And those people who follow you, they are odd ::024::

What Ellwood said. ::026::

The gas gauge is wonky though. Mine goes down one bar at a time. They are not even, mileage wise, which is pretty normal, at least for Yamahas.

I know. Shortly after buying bike, I noticed the gauge seemed to take forever to come off the 'Full' reading....so much so that I was sloshing the fuel around and slapping the side of the tank. I thought the float was stuck :D
