I have been a member for a while but I am not a big poster so this is my first post. So instead of asking a question I thought I would post something helpful. I have seen people wanting some type of highway pegs so I came up with a cheap temporary solution. All I did is take a 6" pipe from lowes and a 7.5" bolt and replaced one of the bolts on the stock crash bar. I have attached some pics so you can see what I am talking about. They work good but I will buy some better ones when I buy a good aftermarket crash bar but for now it works great. Let me know if you want to know anything else about them.

P.S. I love this bike I have been on everything from Ducatis to scooters and this is the best all around bike by far.

That's a pretty good idea can you give more detail what to look for at the home store? What keeps the pipe from slipping over the head of the bolt, a washer of some type? A close up pic of the pipe and bolt would help maybe. Is this set up pretty sturdy and can it handle your feet putting pressure on it without coming loose? Thanks for posting and good info for your first one. ;D

I wonder if painting it flat black would make it blend in?

You can find the pipe in the plumbing section. It is 6" long 1/2" diameter and is threaded on both ends. Just a plan old black steal pipe. I had to go to a nut and bolt store to find the right bolt. The original bolt is a 8x1.25 and is about 1" long. The one I had to buy was 8x1.25 and is about 7.5" long. After that I just did a test fit and found a washer and a lock washer that would work. I will post up a better picture when my wife gets home with the camera.

It is sturdy enough to hold up under normal riding. I would not stand up on them but just for normal kick you legs up riding it works great. This is not a long term solution for me but I just was not ready to spend a bunch of money on a crash bar and bolt on pegs. I only put them on when I am going riding on long boring highway rides. I plan on painting them soon I just wanted to post this up real quick.

I hope this helps, I will post up a better picture soon.

Welcome aboard and thanks for the idea about the pegs!

How about positing an actual introduction over in the "Member Intros" section of the forum.

Thanks,
Rod

Welcome on, CE34 and congrats on the new bike. It's freezing here this morning, but supposed to soar up to about 50 F. We'll see. Howdy to North Carolina, and again, ::004:: . R. ::022::
