Is the silver color of the side covers on your bike the same silver (sparkly, metal-flake like) as that on the footpegs holders, subframe, etc.?

I'd like the all-black side covers of my US-model more if they were similar to those of the First Edition model. Can't find any online photos that really depict the color adequately...

Thanks,
- Mike

Mike, they are likely not the same color as the foot pegs. Your best bet is to find a silver on a car or other Yamaha that you think is good looking and find an automotive paint store or good repair facility that will give you the paint code. If you get the silver paint code from a European bike, you then contact Color-Rite in PA or CA.

Hi, I took my tail rack with my side covers to my body shop. Told him to get them close. They came out great. Makes the bike looked finished. Good luck.

Thanks, everyone.

The paint shop already has my right passenger footpeg assembly, whose color looks a lot like the tailrack. I'll ask them to try to color match to it as closely as possible.

The silver side panels on my Oz bike have the "Data Dot" bar code incorporated. I assume this is an anti theft idea.
My paint data is stored with my dealer for future reference.
Do you have this on the U.S. model ?

Looks good. The only difference is the triangle at the bottom, which is black on the overseas spec bikes.
