Does o-ring 93210-69628-00 go behind the bearing retainer (#12 from manual) or in front? My final drive is weeping from the water drain port and all around the shaft split. I replaced seal # 13 and still have a problem. 93210-69628-00 is my next attempt but I don’t see any mention of it in the manual assembly instructions. Thank you.

How did you replace the seal? When I did mine, the coupler and bearing retainer had to be removed. I had posted this thread.

The O-ring goes in a groove in the bearing retainer. Chances are there is a groove worn in the coupler too. The bearing retainer requires a special tool, and is left handed threads.

I see you are in Mesa. I'm in Gold Canyon if you want to PM me for contact info.

Oh wow that’s great you live so close and have experience, I’m off the 60 and Signal Butte. Im looking forward to reading your post tomorrow. i don’t think I mentioned but my bike is a 012 with around 39k. I seen a video on YT and walked me through how to replace oil seal 13 (from manual) without the removal of the retainer bearing. You do have to remove the coupler though. I’ve been thinking since my original post and I think I will replace oil seal 39 next and see if that’s my problem. I’m thinking this may be my issue now because when I took the pumpkin off this seal looked a little rough and maybe be torn. Also thinking about the weeping, it’s all around the joint where the shaft couples so oils getting spun and flung up. If that doesn’t do it I’ll reach out to you for your help. Do you have the special tools?

Also how I removed the seal is I got a seal puller off Amazon and with the coupler nut barely on the threads it gave me a hole at the top of the nut to put the tip of the seal puller in so it didn’t slide of the threads and then I just used that to pull it out nice and easy. I have a seal installer also and just used the right size and taped it in.

Sorry, not here. A friend in Iowa has the bearing retainer nut socket. Some crafty folks have made one from a regular socket. I can tell you how to rig it up to do it without the spline holder tool. Given you said 39 was a little worn, it would be my guess the issue in your case, more than the O-ring. I would try it first.

Thanks I’m buying a new rear tire this Thursday and will change out oil seal 39 while I’m back there, I already have it on hand. I’ll report back in a few weeks if it’s been resolved.

Looks like oil seal #39 was my culprit. Things have been leak free for about 300miles. Hope it stays that way. Thanks again for your support, safe travels!
