Well, if it offers any peace of mind, my bike is 10 years old and has 96,000 miles on it. The bike lives in a pretty hot climate here in the southern US, not to mention quite a few miles ridden in the southwestern US (even hotter there). My bike continues to run as well now as it did in 2014 when I picked it up, still with the original fan motor and switch.

I have no doubt that somewhere, at some point since 2010, someone's fan motor has failed; nothing is perfect. But that's not a "thing" with this bike, and multiple members on here have way more miles on their bikes than I do with no fan issues. I've been on this forum since 2014, and while I think I can recall a post about a failed fan switch, I don't recall any where someone's fan motor itself failed unless it was the result of a crash.

You gotta do what you're comfortable with, but I think you'd be channeling a lot of energy into reinventing the wheel if you try and configure a new cooling system to replace one that works really well.

Sounds like excellent advice to me

Reflashing the ECU to lower the fan activation temperature might buy you some piece of mind. The cost might be similar to what you’re contemplating doing and you’d reap the additional benefits of improved drivability/performance.

I also have ECU flashed with a lower activation temp , On @ 98C Off @ 93C on my 2020. A buddy has exact same bike an MY. On a ride a couple days ago , when idling in a construction zone my fan would cycle twice to his once but temp of discharged air coming back on rider was considerably less. I was comfortable, he was roasting. I like to think my bike was happier. LOL
