Have I got this right? This device is primarily designed to overcome the return spring on the standard throttle to remove the "snap shut" pressure and is adjustable from a little effect to effectively locked at a particular setting for cruising. If this is the case, even if it is easily switched on and off, why would you want to defeat an obvious safety feature of the standard throttle? One which every manufacturer fits and is a scrutineering check at race meetings. Don't you think there is a reason for that? There is no automatic safety shut off like an electronic cruise control (brake, clutch etc.) so it follows that there will be a small delay in emergency situations while you switch off. If you can't fit or the machine isn't equipped with a proper cruise control, this nice cheap alternative is potentially dangerous. Good luck!

The adjustment is done with friction, not locked. So the device (or others similar) increase the friction on the throttle to be greater than the return spring. But, the throttle will still rotate. this nice thing about the excel is you adjust the friction with the brass knurl and it stays set. You simply use the chrome ball to activate the friction or not.
I agree real electronic cruise is the best choice and one single reason to move to a 2014. But, I love my Blue 12 and this is a good alternative if used properly.
