Not sure what's up with the 35 sold. That exact kit cost $22 on Amazon. I'd be amazed if there were 35 people stupid enough to pay $700 for a flat repair kit. The plastic handled ones are something like $7-12 at most auto parts stores.

That is the humor right there....If I could buy 35 of those kits for $22 and resell them for $699 ea. that would clear me $23,695. That pays off my bike in full, a year of insurance, and about 9k in my pocket for an adventure....hmmm, I think I am in the wrong business. Even with occasional hotel stays on a trip that is well over 3 months on the road. ::012::

Maybe I should have gone to college so I could have figured out how to sell a $22 product for $700 instead of pounding nails for a few dollars an hour.

Well, first, box up your self respect and integrity and toss them in the trash. Next, locate the salesman/politician gene that allows you to lie and smile at the same time and activate that. Then fool yourself into believing that you really are doing a service to your customers by over charging them $678, but you're giving them FREE SHIPPING! :D

I'm hoping it was just a silly error when they revised the listing, but I can't come up with a price variation on $699 that works out. Even at $69.99 it's a pretty steep mark up. And I don't see it going for $6.99 with the actually good quality tools and case, plus the generous amount of sticky strings.

Free shipping AND I can get it in 5 days during the holiday season. Such a deal!
I could not believe how many kits they had that were between $399.99 and $699.99....I don't think it is just an error. Scam is more likely.

I think the scam is to somehow fudge a high "number already sold" stat into the system (perhaps selling before at a much lower price) and then see if you get a few, not-paying-attention, desperate for a last-minute gift, people to bite. There is some subset of shoppers who are really very clueless and/or price insensitive. You only have to sell a couple to make this a money-making deal. And frankly, I don't hold anything terrible against the seller if they are straight-forward selling what they advertise and people want to be this stupid.

Here's what looks like the same thing (in a red box) for $14.45:

Check out their other auctions. they have trailer hitch balls for $699. Probably just a ploy to get you to look at their good auctions. I know a guy over in MO. that built some very good small enclosed trailers and he would price them on Ebay for $1 million just to get people to look at them and call him. Cheap advertising.
