Difference in OEM pannier mounts for ES or am I an idiot?

First of all, much thanks to everyone who responded to my Noobster thread awhile back about buying a new Tenere. The dealer recommendations and buying advice were much appreciated and I'm now the proud Papa of a 2014 ES. Naturally, the farkling process has begun and I've just purchased the OEM side cases and mounting kit but there seems to be an issue. The OEM pannier mounting kit doesn't seem to fit and the main problem is the right side where there is a metal canister in the way of the mounting bracket. The canister looks like it is a part of the ES suspension (it's called a "sub tank" I think...). The reservoir/sub tank mounts w/a bracket which a pannier mount bracket is supposed to bolt to but it looks like there's no way it's gonna fit. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way around it or am I missing something? Are there differences between 2014 ES and non-ES pannier mounts and I just got the wrong kit?

Any and all advice/help is greatly appreciated!!!

Given what has come up in other threads, it does sound like you got the standard mounting kit rather than the ES kit. I'd say take the kit back to the dealer, and exchange it for the correct one...

Did you have any success with getting the OEM brackets mounted? It has been a few days since you posted and there have not been any updates.

I have the OEM brackets and panniers mounted on my 2014 ES. I had none of the issues that you are indicating. I will post a picture of mine from the right side once I am home.

If they don't fit, dealer will swap them out for the right ones.

Yes, the ES is different. Regular pannier mounting kits don't work because of the issues you have encountered.

I ran into this issue yesterday while mounting my oem panniers over to the new 2014. The right side mount is 2 pieces and since the new ES suspension system uses the top bracket mounting holes, I just eliminated the top part of the pannier mount and used the bottom portion only. Eliminate this After studying on it for a while it seems that is the only way to make it work. Looking online, the mount kits that I was able to find all seem to be the same as pre 2014 models. It did require me to use a shorter screw in one of the lower bracket mount holes but it all seems to be working fine after testing today. For the left side, on the back side of the muffler shroud, there is a thin metal heat shield that occupies the 2 holes for mounting the left side bracket. Just remove that shield and replace with the left side pannier bracket and screws. It all worked out OK for me. However I would like to know if there is a specific bracket update that is made for the right side. If someone has a pic would be nice to see the difference and how it is to be mounted.

I have a 2014 ES and installed the mount kit (23P-F84G0-V-00) a few days ago using all the supplied brackets. It seems to fit properly.
