2015 xt1200es electric suspension

Had bike 10k km serviced last week and today 750 trip into a 2200 weekend. Fount that I cannot SET the cruise control.

Cruise turns on and off ok. But pressing set and nothing. No light on instrument or speed held.

service people did something or unplugged something when lifting the tank.???

Side stand switch operated fine and kills engine. Brake lights work when pressed squeezed.

Could it be the clutch switch??
How do I test it?

What else can it be?

Would love it to be a simple fix :)
Hands are hurting.

Thanks

My bet is on the rear brake lever/stop light switch set up - certainly worth checking first.

When I adjusted the brake lever position & the switch action to suit my boots after I first got my 2014 ES/ZE, everything seemed OK when the bike was up on the centre stand. However, as soon as I got out on the road I couldn't get cruise to set, just like the OP. Got my pillion to dismount & she spotted that the brakelight was coming on as soon as the suspension was loaded. So, just a simple switch adjustment was all that was needed to sort the issue.

I hope this works for you too ................... KEN

My first thought was the same as Squibb's. Brake switch is on, or sticking, so won't take the set for the CC. The clutch switch could also be the issue, you can test it by putting the bike in gear and attempting to start it w/o pulling the clutch lever in. If the starter engages, that switch is either not plugged in or bad in some way. I'm not sure this would affect the CC, but the brakes and speed sensors on both wheels most certainly do.

Well that might be it. I have adjusted the right foot rear brake pedal height. Never tested cruise since. I'll check that rear brake pedal switch.

Thanks guys

This sounds off the wall but if I am remembering right any warning lights on dash including low fuel indication will not allow to be set.

All fixed. In the morning I tested and found that the rear brake light switch on the pedal needed to be adjusted. It was sometimes sticking. I did adjust the pedal and lowered it3 weeks ago and tested the rear light and it was fine. 1 full rotation of nut and it is now turning on and off the brake light as it should. Cruise control has been restored and I enjoyed it alllllll day. 1000km more to go to get home.

Thanks for all your help.
