I ordered the "standard" SR371 monokey top case mount for my wife's S10 and the SR2101 Aluminum top plate for mine. I had read where some have stated the SR371 gives the passenger more room, so I measured them both. The SR371 places a top case just over 1/4" back, maybe 5/16" as a generous measurement. Not much at all, really.

What someone could do with the SR371 mounting brackets is drill another set of holes or oval out the current holes in order to shift the whole setup back a bit further, you might gain another 3/4" at best is my guess.

I have the SR2101 Al plate type. Non issue for rear seat space for me as my wife is petite. Certainly the AL plate looks better.

Givi rear rack plate part selection wizard:

Petite Pillion - SR2101
> Petite Pillion - SR371
>>> Petite Pillion - Use a car.

With the sale prices as they were, the SR371 setup was $52 less expensive than the SR2101 aluminum plate. It will be a very rare occasion for either bike to not have a Trekker clicked in place for daily riding so at that point, the SR371 is just as nice since you can't see it (black blends in). Add the pricing advantage and the fact you can easily modify it for more passenger room if desired, it's really a pretty good option.

Anyway, I just wanted to illustrate exactly how much more room there was as delivered from GIVI, an insignificant amount.

I had a thread about this - The best solution is to sell the givi plate and get the altrider plate with the givi monokey adapters. It gave my wife between 2 and 3 additional inches of space with my Trekker 52l monokey topcase with the backrest installed. Expensive, but a worthwhile investment for the long haul.

A few more pics in profile of both racks. You can see the GIVI side racks (PL367) in the pic with the SR371

I have Givis on mine but don't know much about them. They were on the bike when I bought the bike. My top mount is like that aluminum one but mine is black.
