Picked up my Matte Grey ST in '13 shortly after moving out here in December of that year, replacing my prior horse of a Yammy FJR1300. My house is about 5 miles away from the nearest pavement, at 9200ft, accessible only via a rocky shelf road - which made it obvious fairly quickly that the FJ wasn't going to be a good option for out here :p

I have to be honest in that I wasn't too impressed with the engine until I had the ECU flashed, now it works much better up here. Loving the bike, but I could smack the engineer who decided to put street tires as stock....

Would love to get with other riders in the area that know good places to go, please PM me and we'll swap details.

::004:: from the Front Range. You lookin' for pavement rides or dirt adventures? I've been riding in Colorado since the 70s, but I'm an on-road kinda guy. There's a bunch of knowledgeable and skilled off-roaders on this forum, though.

I traded an FJR for my '14 ES ...it's a popular motif here...

Hey Vanderhoo,
Thanks for reaching out and the offer. I'm going to try to hit some of the dirt routes since we're starting into spring, I love getting into the backcountry here in Colorado... ;D

Welcome Cotopaxi. I'm up the river in Salida and ride the Big Blue Beast. Next time you are in town stop by.
I'll send you a PM, I'm actually going to be in Salida tomorrow - if not hopefully we can hookup for some trails in the future.

WookinPaNub & blues bob.......This is Mark up in BV (hence my clever user name). I bought a 14 ES last fall to use mainly as a road bike and to do two-up trips with the wife. I've got a couple other bike for bashing the rough stuff, but I'm always open to exploring the back roads, etc, just no single track on the S10 ::). I suggest we meet up somewhere, say Cafe Dawn, to meet and greet, and plan a ride or two.

"Once Buckwheat sings a song it's eternally his".... :D

I find now that I am dating myself, when most of the younger generation say "Buckwheat who??"....
