Has there ever been a consensus or list of the forum members who are going to be at the Barber Vintage Festival?

I'm going to ride my S-10 out from South Texas, and I should be arriving sometime Thursday afternoon. Going to do the museum on Friday and make the "Motorcycles by Moonlight" dinner with Cook Neilsen & Paul Smart (http://www.barbervintagefestival.org/benefit-dinner.php) on Friday night.

My vintage CZ's and the guy who rides 'em for me is due sometime late Friday night...

(just look for the day-glo red framed CZ's with the number N17 in the Classic 125 Expert, Sportsman 250 Expert, and Vintage Over 50 Expert ;D )

Will be hanging out with my rider and his brother for most of the day Saturday, watching some road racing and maybe hitting the museum again.

Sunday will be in the MX pits and watching the vintage MX races. My Super Tenere will most likely be there in the MX pits, close to those CZ's, and my S-10 is pretty much stock with the Yamaha bags and now a Parabellum windshield (which for the moment IMHO is better than the CalSci I had on there).

Anybody else gonna' be there, and if so, where at? Any plans for Super Tenere riders to get together while there?

Thanks!

I visited last year and as mentioned, the museum is incredible- the entire facility is immaculate and is a must see for any racing or moto enthusiast. BTW, for those going, Mr. Barber is still very active in the day to day operation and is very approachable if you feel like chatting.

Wish I could make it again this year but it's on the list for next time.

From postings in this thread, I think a few guys will be there, but we never got anything planned out formal-like. My plans are fairly loose.

I'm staying at the Hilton Gardens in Liberty Park, which is about eight or ten miles back toward Birmingham. Probably Friday I'll hang out at the swap meet, visit the museum and watch some of the track racing. Saturday I'll probably just be there in the afternoon for the auction and then I want to go see the Motus Motorcycles at that Bike Night ^ in Birmingham. Sunday is motocross day. Given workload I may have to head back to Tampa Sunday afternoon to be back on Monday...not sure yet.

I'll be at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Grants Mill Road off I-20, 8 miles west of the track.

I don't know if I'll make it this year. My son and I are enjoying some serious twistie riding in the MO and AR Ozarks and we'll continue this week. My fellow Bultaco racing buddy is going and could haul my Pursang down there for me, but I don't think we will be able to make Birmingham by the weekend.

BTW, today was the first time I had a chance to ride my Super Ten in some serious twisties and we did about 300 miles of them today. I had hoped that it would be a good twistie weapon, but, WOW, was I pleasantly surprised! That thing is so stable and confidence inspiring in the tightest of roads. It handled marvousely and that engine is spectacular. I left it in 6th gear on most of them and it just torqued thru everything. It really sounds good when it is making power as it flies thru those curves. I got some helmet cam video of a couple of my favorit roads and I'll edit and upload them when I am back home in a week or so.

Bummer that we won't see you, but it sounds like your having a blast! I'll be taking lots of pictures to share with you and everyone when I get back.

Look for a big silver and blue motorhome in the MX pits. It will be my riding buddy Jim Radcliff and he will have his Bultaco Frontera 370 there that he will ride in the cross country race. Mitch Boehm will be staying with him this weekend also.

Haven't posted lately - sorry. I will have the RV on the Hilltop RV lot as of tonight. Mostly a family event for me and a couple friends but I will be around/available all weekend. We have 6 and 7 year old girls so not sure the S10 will even make it out. Ought to be fun all around anyway and I will be looking for some of you guys.

Travel safe!

Great weekend at the Barber Vintage Festival! What an outstanding event! I saw two other big blue Super Tenere's in addition to mine. I met Dallara on his and there was another in the Museum Parking Lot that I think belongs to member bonedaddy. I have a lot of photos to go through yet, but here's a slideshow of my photos from the Museum; 157 photos. Absolutely outstanding. Enjoy!

Thanks! Yeah, you go in that museum and want a photo of everything, and that’s not the whole collection. They rotate bikes in and out of their warehouse. I have a few photos in the slideshow looking in at the warehouse. I think it’s the only time of year they let people down there…but just to peek in.

The whole facility is as nice as the museum. Here are some shots of racing action and down in the paddock area.

I just read that Barber is expanding the Museum this year from 140K to 240K square feet. Click.

As if the place wasn’t awesome enough already. :)

Thought I had posted the links that follow, but just got a recent notification to this thread and noticed I'd forgotten to do so...

Here's Twitch's and my Super Tenere's:

Next is a link to my 2,226 pictures I took in the Barber Museum over the two days and one night I was in there:

Some various pictures from around the facility... They do no justice to just how beautiful a place Barber Motorsports Park is:

Last, but not least, some pics and videos I shot while riding part of the Natchez Trace Parkway on the way up to Barber from Texas:

Hope you enjoy some of them! :)

Dang, that's a lot of photos! I can't wait to see your album this year when they about double the size of the place. :)

Sick part is that I took all those and *STILL* didn't get nearly everything photographed!

Truly is the most amazing collection of motorcycles I have ever seen. Simply impossible to put into words how impressive the place is.

So how many miles you got on your S-10 now, Twitch?

I’m just past 5K for 2011. This will be a big year though. Aside from all the local stuff we do, I’m heading over to Junction, Tx for the TAR in April that Combo posted here, back up to NC with the XROG in May and the Yukon Rally in June/July. I’m going to try and get the AMA Vintage Days at Mid-Ohio in on the way back from Canada, but I’ll definitely be back to the Barber Fest this October!

btw…any picks of your motocross team in action?

I use photobucket, but that smugmug is a lot better. Think I’ll move my stuff over.
