Bags Connection caution

I realize I'm over cautious but this could cause a serious problem on a trip. If you have one of their bags (which I think are great) think about a gas stop and the lanyard or ring to the locking pin breaks! Difficult to gas up when you can't remove the bag. For the ring I use a small key ring because they are very durable. For the lanyard I use the one that comes with the bag, then attached a second one using a rawhide shoe lace and ran it up to the D rings on the front of the bag. If the supplied lanyard were to fail I have a plan B. All this really isn't necessary but I carry an extra key for the bike and that really isn't necessary either.

I actually think your posting this is very good info!

I changed my ring out as you did because the provided one is weak at best. I like your alternate plan for the pull too. May have to do this!!!

Good post.

Good info, thanks. I'm sorta leaning toward the 'City' right now as the 'GS' seems a bit over the top, size wise.

I like the idea of the additional lanyard and changing the ring although the provided ring seems ok. I did take the time to apply waterproof grease to the pin. This should reduce the effort and extend the life of the ring and lanyard.

The City has enough capacity but I am used to living out of the Wolfman Explorer Lite and wanted the full version. Having side cases makes easy access storage simple so the City will provide well.

I carry up to three spare keys depending what is on the bike.
