Am I the only one in the USA with one for the S10?

So Yamaha USA gives us cheap plastic keys to start our new $14,500 motorcycle, but they give the rest of the world nice, good quality keys that you would expect when you buy such an expensive motorcycle. Well....I have a Yamaha euro key for my s10. Am I the only one in the USA with one for the Tenere? ::013::

Just so you know I didn't get this from my dealer. I bought a few when I had my r6 and I never cut this one, so now my S10 gets it!

Might be you have one of the chipped blanks. Did your R6 have an imobilizer? Those key blanks cost a hell of lot more than the regular keys.
The Canadian bikes have the imobilizer whether we like it or not. ::010:: Get well soon ::008::

Nope. I just cut the key and it worked in the r6 without issue, and I hope it's the same in the s10! We will find out, but it's funny how little things get you excited when you can't walk. Haha

Well if there was a chip it would just be sitting in there doing nothing. It wouldn't stop a non-immobilizer bike from starting.

Joe now you have one like mine :) you probably would like a read key, I have one and I keep it at home, wouldn't want to loose it.
