Altrider bar vs pavement

Someone decided last night that my bike looked too nice standing upright and kicked it over. My right side altrider crashbar is bent at the mount and it bent the mount tab as well. Any suggestions what paint to use to prevent rush on the bike attachment point and how susceptible the tabs are to cracking while bending them back?

Rustoleum with a little brush will work great. The steel is fairly mild so small tweaks generally aren't a problem as long as you are not working it back and forth.

Thanks alot. I'm just hoping that I can do it without cracking it. Has anyone found a place that can straighten the Altrider bars?

Altrider bars are Stainless steel so they won't rust. I've bent mine many times and just put them in the vise with a big hammer.

That bent part is a sub frame under/below the electrical. That part can probably be taken off the side of the cylinder and be hammered flat again. I can't find that sub frame in ProCaliber's fiche. Me, I'd want new... provided I could find the dang thing. I'd honestly thought that mounting point was a little more robust than that. My bike has been over on the right side a couple times, no signs of any wrinkles. It's a sad thing to say, but it looks like somebody did more than just tip it over.

Does anyone know of a place or member (~Tabasco~) that can fix/straighten Altrider bars? I'm taking the bike to a friend's this week and we are going to coldwork the tab and if it cracks he is pretty skilled with a tig machine.

Look closely. Those upper minimalist crash-bars used to be Altriders.
I requested maximum sump protection and minimum dirt-nap protection.

Jaxon obliged. Don't know if his location is convenient, but he can bend or straighten just about anything, I suppose.

Oh, and look at him acting all bad-azz when he built something completely from scratch. :)
(Jaxon's Tenere is wicked cool. But he obviously has his jeckyl-hyde issues. Lol)
You know I love ya Jaxon!!!

You're paint job/graphics are pretty sweet. I like the mesh on the side panels.

Thanks!
The bike was painted to match a helmet I bought. (yeah, I know. It would make more sense the other way around. But I really liked the helmet. ;) )
