That's a more northerly route than I usually take. That looks like two toll booths as well The tolls are usually on the 'in-bound'. I drop through Livermore then 680 south via 84. It's only ten-twenty miles further to swing around the south end of the bay, no tolls. I'd like to check out Calaveras Rd someday when I'm through that area and have time.

Yep. You can run out to Discovery Bay and drop down from the north too. 4 can be rough on a big road bike. I was also seeing that Saratoga Ave links to 9. More great roads.
