4 way flashers are mandatory in Europe, so we have those already and someone in the US on here have installed the left hand EU switch gear to a US spec bike................

don't the 2014s and up have 4 way flasher? My FJ09 has them, and it's tenere switch gear and instrument cluster..

I figured it would be BNC only for 2017.

My 2015 has four way flashers, use them every morning.

My '15 ES has 4-way flashers as standard. Another Gen2 addition/difference?
Yes, the Gen 1 US bikes didn't have hazards or FTP. However, I found that the Kawasaki Versys left cluster was identical, with the addition of those two switches, so I installed one on my 2012, although I didn't use them for either of their original functions. I also added the 2013 and up FJR right switch cluster (same as what now comes on the Gen 2 STs).

Good write up. I wonder if the Gen 2 left hand switch gear would be somewhat plug-n-play for Gen 1 bikes, maybe an easier solution than the Versys switch gear to add FTP and 4-ways?

In my case, since I wanted to use the FTP and hazard switch for other purposes, I had to modify the wiring. If all you want to do is FTP and hazard, then adding the flasher circuit is really the only additional thing to do.

I know EricV was working on integrating the Gen 2 left hand switch cluster (same as on the FJR) to his Gen 1, so that he could also integrate an aftermarket cruise system. I don't know how far he got though...
