I'm old and fat. But have ridden almost daily since I was a kid.
Put another way, I just had my 30 year anniversary with the only wife that would have me. And in our old picture albums (remember those?), just after the pics of us in wedding clothes are the pics of my 81 GS1000E sitting on the front porch of our newlywed apartment.
She married a man that had no car!
Anyways, I have always gotten the worse gas mileage and the shortest tire life of anybody I ride with. I've accepted that it is ME.
But the Tenere has increased my average in both areas. I can get 40mpg for the first time in my life on a big bore. And the K60's are made somewhere where they wave a magic wand over them before they ship em out. Insane wear. (You MUST ignore the squaring off though)
I suppose the K60 would be too much of a compromise on the street if it were not for the amazing electronic wizardry of the S10. But, that little blinking yellow light has rescued me almost daily. Rain or shine I ride.
Never been so perfectly matched to a machine in my life.
