Guess the point is I always carry 2 keys. Don't want to risk breaking one in the lock.. This is what I've been doing. Although I'm gaining more trust with the keys I had made. Agreed the plastic lock mechanism is probably the real issue.

I had new keys made and IMO they seem stronger than the factory keys so I will be using those but has anyone replaced the factory tumblers in their Yamaha OEM luggage? I agree with the post saying the tumblers seem like they are not all that great. They work but... I don't know that I trust...

Ferret, did you shave the foam down to narrow the seat? Eric, those seem like fair prices and I will keep that in mind. I've actually considered thicker soled boots but I don't think she's giving her boots up anytime soon. She loves them.

Thanks guys. That is what I was going for. We still plan to order the low seat but I'm thinking if I can do away with the tray then that will buy her another say .25 to .5 inch. I'd prefer not to have to mess with the geometry by using lowering links but if the options above don't go far...

So I've tried searching the site which I admit I may have just failed at but I've read a lot about modifying the seat so that it will connect to the frame without the tray. The problem I'm having is I cannot find a post saying what modification one does to the connector piece to accomplish this...

Does the low seat come with shorter bumpers or can you replace them with the VStar bumpers and low it even more?
