I just bought it because I got a good deal on it, less then 1/4 the price I'd have to pay for DOT 4 Yamalube and still cheaper then any recognizable brand of brake fluid and it's new stuff, dated 2017. Good to have a vote of confidence! :)

I put SW Motec pegs on my bike too, and can't figure out how to adjust this thing because everything is so tight it feels like someone did it up with LockTite red, and I'm afraid to put too much torque on anything. Is there a nut up and under that is locking things from turning the screw, or is...

Well I finally took picturds of my left mount; here's the side on shot, and it does make it pretty clear these are 'sided' L/R only: And it does appear I have it on the correct side... I also took a top down shot, you can see the front of the rail is closer to the bike then the rear -- again...

Kingofgix I own a 2014 non ES, and also have to count myself among the lucky in that in Tour Mode I do not expedience any of the FBW fueling snatch that is seen across the line, models, and model years in Sport Mode... In Sport Mode my Super Ténéré does hit hard, but I wouldn't quite describe it...

Re: Super Ténéré 2017 & Beyond... Yes the fuel gauge calibration is terrible; and is fairly useless -- you can take the fuel pump (number 16) out of the tank, and bend the float arm, but having talked to a guy that's tried it -- it's such a trail and error effort that it's a total crap...

I agree it's unlikely that Yamaha will ever pursue it; but direct cam impingement shim buckets that could just as easily positioned under the rockers requiring a tiny fraction of the disassembly to do a valve adjustment (with a lot of less risk), seems a no brainer for a bike with RTW...

The 50mm version of the Kayaba fork that's on the bike now, with dump drain bypass, and adjustable high speed damping (internal)... Then the bike would have a universal front end that could handle the leverage of a 21" hoop properly, added stiffness some of us want, and be a lot more...

I agree with and like this post; the Buell XB12X is another example of a bike with similar power/weight that has hydraulic lifters. As far as additional feature like cornering lights; I'd prefer anything that adds cost and/or additional complexity be added as options -- the way you can plug-in...

I agree and don't care if the thing mars up my windscreen either, but it's nice to know in advance what you're setting yourself up for -- so no remorse later.

Yup, same here, and I've seen this on several other Super Ténérés -- it's a conundrum. Not a big deal, but perhaps putting some rubber washers between the bottom bracket and it's mount; which is what I'd rather try first as the mount is heavy gauge metal and I think I'm as likely to go too far...

I agree... All the evidence as far as 'what's better' is anecdotal, so you're going to have to make a judgment call based on what you think is going to happen in a fall over or crash... Based on what I've seen in crashed bikes and tip overs, the way the various bars mount to the Super Ténéré...
