Rear Brake pads and Rotor replacement

My commute is about 20 miles each way. I am 6'4" and had a smaller bike but it was not comfortable. It is a good thought but I enjoy the bike enough to not worry about the maintenance costs. I honesty could have kept the rotor for another set of pads because they were within the recommended...

Rear Brake pads and Rotor replacement

I am changing my rear rotor at 20,000 miles. My bike is primarily used for commuting during the non-snowy/icy months. Although the rotor still measures above the limit, it is getting close enough for me to replace it along with a new tire. I need all the braking confidence I can get...

Headlight Modulator debate. Modulator or no modulator.

You win. I removed the headlight modulator, but kept the brake modulator.

Headlight Modulator debate. Modulator or no modulator.

I guess I have not yet seen this driver confusion you describe resulting from my modulating headlight. Also, thanks for validating my specialness.

Headlight Modulator debate. Modulator or no modulator.

I like mine. I do not care if it is annoying or confusing to other drivers. If they react with annoyance or confusion, that means they see me. I live in an area where impatience, distractions and entitlement reigns and I want all the help I can get. Regardless if they will help or not, I...

    Signal Dynamics Lighting Modules

In an effort to increase my visibility to the dumb asses that live and visit my town and region, I chose to purchase two products from Signal Dynamics based on recommendations from experienced riders and mechanics. I just installed the Brake XP Module which went on easily without any problems...

Flooding and Fouled Plugs-Anyone Else Experience This?

[NOTE TO NEW OWNERS: The OP has a 2011-2013 Gen1 bike and many of those year bikes had a condition called "hard start." His description of the problem and cure are a good summary for the 46+ page thread about it elsewhere. Yamaha addressed it in the Gen2 2014+ bikes and while there may've been...

Have you had the hard start problem?

Could not start my bike last week. It had been sitting for about two months with a full tank and gas stabilizer. After pulling and cleaning the plugs, I am back in business. I am baffled on how the plugs got fouled.

    Altrider Crash bar issue

I also just installed my new SW-Motech Crash Bars (thanks to the gang at Twisted Throttle!!!) and they went on easily. They look great and it took me (unskilled labor) 20 minutes for both sides. Just in case someone is still looking for crash bars.

    Is it Wednesday yet?!

I agree with breaking it in according to the manual. My bike is getting progressively smoother as the miles accumulate.

    Why all the hate?

I love my Super 10. Every person who has clue about the many ways a motorcycle can be ridden has been positive about my ride. It is not what you ride but if you ride. Ignore the background noise and ride. The bike is awesome.

    Why all the hate?

When someone says my bike is a pig/heavy, I let them them know I shopped in the men's section. and I did not see "whatever" bike they say is better.

Have we bought tickets to the cheap seats?

I find the seat comfortable when my posture is correct. Unfortunately I am lazy.

    Not Feeling This Bike (Yet)

I haven't recieved the brunt of name calling in a while. I do not have everything figured out but I have earned everything I own (which is not much compared to others). I am sick of pepole who lived outside of their means and had evey concievable toy only to be bailed out later during the...

    Not Feeling This Bike (Yet)

You can't ride it because of finances? Really? You bought a new bike but can't ride it yet? If you are having trouble with your finances, maybe a new bike is not in your cards? Maybe a solid, smooth older bike would be better at this time. Not every bike is a perfect match for every...
