    COLORADO, GHOST-TOWN Exploring + Camp-Out: JULY 25th - 29th 2024

I have to say I’m extremely envious of this ride. It has everything I love about exploring the landscape. Mountains, dirt roads, historic towns and industrial archaeological sites. Add to all that, riding at altitude which I have never had the opportunity due to Australia being vertically...

    Howdy from the US Midwest

Welcome from South Australia. My story is similar. A long time sans bike before getting back into it 10 years ago. I’d recommend doing a riding course. You don’t know what you’ve forgotten in those years.

    Don't neglect your PSA test

Bit of a diabetes epidemic here in Aus too. In the 1980s my boss took his family to Hawaii for a holiday. He came back after a fantastic trip but was stunned by the serving sizes and the type of food that was served for breakfast at the hotel. Lots of sweet food like huge donuts and cakes. It...

    Don't neglect your PSA test

Great conversation people. Thanks for raising it RCinNC. I think talking about these things openly and honestly helps all of us face them with less stress. I’m in Australia but we have all the same issues of increasing obesity and unhealthy lifestyles leading to poor health outcomes. I’m in the...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Was the 550km all ridden in the Netherlands or did you ride into other countries? I never get the opportunity to ride into another country living in Australia. I can ride 3000 kilometres north and west and still be riding away from my house. 1500 kms to the east and I end up in the ocean.

    Yamaha factory panniers Australia

You could try finding a freight forwarder in the UK that will handle a small parcel. I've bought heaps of things from sellers in the US who don't ship to Australia. There is bound to be some in the UK. Z

    Tonti framed Moto Guzzi

My feeling was that it would be in need of a lot of work. The first question is, why was it parked up in the first place? The clutch cable is disconnected for start. Z

That's the one. Not worth the trouble?

    Tonti framed Moto Guzzi

There is a Guzzi T4 for sale on line here in Australia at the moment. In a garage covered in dust for the last 10 years but "ran well when last used". I am sorely tempted seeing these bikes. It could make a good 'evening project bike' getting it back on the road. I'm not the type to make it...

The end of a beautiful relationship?

If you have ever owned a motorcycle or car with carburetors, and I'm sue many here have, and had to start them in the morning after a cold, damp or frosty night, all of the above will be familiar. Leaving engines sitting through winters leads to fuel that is less enthusiastic to combust and the...

The end of a beautiful relationship?

Was the bike definitely getting fuel to the cylinders? All the hard start strategies are good ways to start a flooded engine or compression start (bump start) even works for a bike with a flat battery. But if there is no fuel getting to the compression stroke you're dead in the water. I hope...

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Created in 2017 by "They were painted by world-renowned large scale mural artist Guido van Helten who was given full creative license to create what he believed would best reflect community spirit, culture and local identity." You can read about it here.

    A quick Braaap into Utah!

I was on a ride to Uluru (Ayer’s Rock) last year and met some guys doing just that. They were on KTM 890s. Ironically they had to turn back because part of the route was flooded.

    A quick Braaap into Utah!

Thanks for the write up. It’s great hearing other people’s adventures in foreign lands. It’s been a long, long time since I laast rode in snow and ice. Not part of the climate where I live these days. Dom
