Rear Brake Failure (NOT disc or pads)

Re: Rear Brake Problems Guys, I had exactly the same issue and it was the ABS unit that was faulty. Cost me over a grand as it was out of warranty, there was some discussion about a year ago as a couple of others had the same issue.

    Rear brake failure.

I replaced the rear master cylinder first but made no difference. ***It was most definitely the ABS unit***

    Rear brake failure.

Mine did the same about 18 months ago. After a long fault finding session it turned out to be a fault with the ABS unit. It was bleeding internally and always lost pedal pressure after riding for a few metres. Over $1000 later and all is fixed. Was only a few months out of warranty but Yamaha...

    Clutch basket questions

Mine turned up two days ago in Australia, installed it straight away and now have 500ks on it. You guys will love the difference it's made. ::013:: So smooth right from 2000 rpm through the troublesome 3600 rpm range!

    Tenere fuel range/tank volume

Re: Real tank size I've put 22.9 litres in mine after going 120km on reserve so tank capacity for me is accurate at 23 litres... I think you under estimate how far you can go on reserve. Cheers, Dave.

    Metzeler tourance made in China

I'm glad to read that the OP is happy with their tyres. What I was saying is not to judge a product by where it's made, but on the merit of the product itself. Just because it's made in a certain country does not necessarily mean it's not up to quality standards we all expect nowadays. Perhaps...

    Metzeler tourance made in China

I disagree! >:( It wasn't that long ago that nobody would buy anything manufactured in Japan. Now look who the market leaders are now! What is it again we're all riding? No-one has proven these tyres are of lesser quality or even tried them to judge for themselves and until someone does then...

Inventory of Major Part Failure on the S10?

Wow! There is another failure of the ABS unit..... I was told mine was the only one worldwide! ::025:: My ABS unit died at about 50,000kms! No warranty but was about $1000 for the part and I fitted it myself... This is the only major failure... ::021::

    Clutch slipping?

Well I've got 55,000k's on mine with the original clutch. I thought it slipped once but it was wheelspin on wet tar. ::26:: I would expect a clutch to last nearly 100,000k's (60,000 miles) with normal use. Aren't these Tenere's suppose to be fault free? ;) P.S. Quote 'gbergma1' "I then...

6" rigid light bar OEM crash guards

Just remove the top loop. That's what I did. I also modded the lower sections by removing the mounting lugs for the top loop and smoothing it out. Looks great.

    Best Aux lights

They guy I bought the lights from tried to get me to buy the 10" LED bar but I wanted something discreet so I went for the 6 inch. I was originally wanting to mount it to the crashbar and bought billet mounts as well but after getting the lights and trying them it was a much better option to...

    Best Aux lights

I used the factory lower light surround 10mm screws and the long brackets that came with the light. I redrilled one hole in each bracket higher up so the lights mounted flush and are very solid. No vibration at all even on the roughest roads.. Looking at all your posts I'm very glad you're all...
