    Tyres That Don't Howl?

I think you've nailed it cyclemike, while these tires are a lot quieter they do still have some road noise but it's easily bearable unlike the obnoxious howl from the Motoz tires I'm pretty happy with them at this stage

    Tyres That Don't Howl?

So an update on this, I got given a new pair of Metzeler Tourance tires from a friend of mine I didn't really think much of them at first just looking at them but thought they were worth a try given the price, I put the front one on and took the bike for a ride and initially it was heaps quieter...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

2011 S10, Changed the clutch basket today to the later model It's a pretty significant difference in the engine noise and vibrations, Fairly expensive here in Aus at $650 for the part but I think it's worth it now that it's done Followed the instructions in this thread, Thanks to all that...

Frustrated that used bike I bought is not starting now!

I wonder if it's worth upgrading the cables to the starter? There could be a fair bit of voltage drop happening here as well which wouldn't help I might have a play with that next weekend I noticed that too and do the same thing, haven't had any problems since doing it this way

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

2011 model took out the auto cam chain tensioner and replaced it with a Graves manual CCT No more rattle on cold starts and it seems to quietened the engine down while riding a bit too Now on to the clutch basket, which model would be the best to order or are they all the same after 2014?

    Tyres That Don't Howl?

Yes that's why I want a front tyre with grip funnily enough, I'm just not happy with how ridiculously loud this particular one is on the road As for my riding skills, I started riding motorbikes when I was 9 years old and I'm now 61 and had bikes for most of that period with a large part riding...

    Tyres That Don't Howl?

Thanks mate I'll have a look into those I don't do any silly off road stuff, mainly gravel roads but I do live on a rural property that is quite hilly and wet grass across the side of a hill has me worried about grip Understand everyone saying the blocky tyres are noisy but that's all I used to...

    Tyres That Don't Howl?

Fair enough mate, I understand what your saying but surely not all tyres are this loud I swapped bikes with a mate of mine yesterday and I could hear him coming up behind me, I do tend to ride with my visor open so probably hear more like that I'm not a big fan of ear plugs but I'll look into...

    Tyres That Don't Howl?

I've just put Motoz adventure tyres on my bike, the front is the dual venture While these are good both on road and off the front has this annoying howl that I'm finding pretty irritating and I'm thinking about replacing it What's out there that is still good but not stupidly loud, has anyone...

    Handlebars And Sore Hands/Wrists

Mate I did so many searches on handlebar setup and bike geometry etc and most of what came back was just fluff and bullshit, Understand you didn't make he video but it helped me no end and that one didn't show up in any of my searches I certainly will be clocking up the K's now, especially as we...

    Handlebars And Sore Hands/Wrists

So, 3 hours out on the bike and no more pains The bike feels so much better to ride without the risers, it is no longer twitchy and much easier to maneuver at low speeds and stopping at traffic lights/parking etc Funny thing is my seating position feels much better, I'm not reaching for the bars...

    Handlebars And Sore Hands/Wrists

Yes interesting video Something I noticed is that the bike seemed to be pretty twitchy on the road after the new bars and after watching that and doing some more reading I've taken the risers out and put the bars in the standard position I'm going to start there and make adjustments as needed...

    Handlebars And Sore Hands/Wrists

Thanks Bob, I think I'll go with the Protaper Adventure low bars The pain I'm having is mostly wrists and hands and it's putting me off riding the bike, 60 years old now and I don't really need anything else adding to the aches and pains :D :)

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Put on a set of Motoz Tractionator adventure tyres, front is the dualventure Pretty happy with them so far as far as grip and handling goes on both road and dirt but boy do they howl, I've never known a tyre so noisy I hope they settle down, they were easy enough to fit but the front didn't want...
