    Clutch Basket Remove/Upgrade/Installation

Got everything in tonight. Easy, easy, easy. I replaced all my clutch plates/discs as well as the pressure plate. I had some shuddering in my clutch during slow speed riding and heavy traffic. Most of the stock pieces looked ok, except the narrow one held by the wire clip. That disc was nearly...

Went down to the Dragon last weekend

Ouch. Cool picture though. The warning about Cades cove is because of the crowds and being one way. I got stuck on it a couple years ago in August. Average speed of about 6mph for the length of it.

Went down to the Dragon last weekend

Sooo many good roads in that area. Make sure to hit the Cherohala Skyway and Devils Triangle too. Whatever you do, stay away from Cades Cove Loop.

Went down to the Dragon last weekend

Couple of friends and I took a little trip down to GA last weekend, via US129. It was my third time there, the first time for them. We decided next year we are going to get a place in Gatlinburg and spend 3-4 days riding around the area. We spent too much time at the Dragon, so didn't get to...

First TB sync today, quick question

If it runs so much better adjusting that screw, why does the manual say not to adjust it?

First TB sync today, quick question

That's why I'm asking, I feel the same way. It certainly runs smoother now, but I didn't feel like it ran poorly before. The on/off feeling at low throttle while cruising is gone now. Throttle response seems about the same. Only got a quick ride in, I'll get a longer ride in towards the end of...

First TB sync today, quick question

Manual says not to adjust the standard screw. Just following directions.

First TB sync today, quick question

I ended up turning the non standard screw in about 2 turns to get a perfect sync. Wasn't too tight that I could tell. I dunno. I'll check it again after I do a valve adjust this winter. Wanted to get through the riding season before I tore into that project :)

First TB sync today, quick question

I performed a TB sync today, along with doing a 24k service (I know I was over due for a sync). I was finally able to get everything synched up, but I ended up screwing the non standard screw in seemingly all the way. I used two separate tools to confirm the vacuum reading, which ended up being...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Installed a Vista Cruise throttle lock I had sitting in the garage, and finally tightened up my steering bearing. Much easier than I thought it would be :)

Battle Wing tires, original set 9879 miles

I replaced my stock Battlewings at about 12k miles. Just put another set on at 23k, but the rear still had about 2-3k left. Front probably had another 4-5k. I kept that set to have as a spare if I need them. I actually really like the Battlewings on this bike.

    Bike won't fire. Flooded?

There are a couple of threads about this issue. Just keep cranking and cranking, with the throttle opened. Eventually it'll start. Took about 15 min for me to get it started about two weeks ago.

    Left the key on...oops

I turn the key off to stop the bike. But, as mentioned, the C14 key stayed in the ignition, so I very rarely removed it. The ignition on the work bike works the same way too. Just turn the ignition to off and walk away.
