    New to me won't run

One thing worse than the smell: chewed wiring in all my vehicles and shop!

    New to me won't run

I have State Farm and comprehensive coverage. I have had lots of good coverage on cars in the past but I have Progressive and Hagerty on my motorcycles. I had a motorcycle burn to the ground and it was replaced by Progressive under the comprehensive policy without an increase in premiums. On...

    New to me won't run

I have the coat hanger and bucket set up but will try the soda cans as an addition. I called my insurance agent and he denied coverage due to rodents. It is in the "fine print" he said. I think I will try the flour and plaster as that is cheap and it won't kill other animals looking for the...

    Aftermarket windshield

Now that the bike is running, has anyone had experience with the Puig touring (23 5/8 inch) windscreen? Pictures of it show that it appears to be well reinforced and about the right size for touring use.

    New to me won't run

Mystery solved. I have a rodent problem in my shop and some little varment decided it liked the wiring to the acceleration control module. I didn't see it until taking the airbox off today. I made a temporary jumper and the bike started after a few moments of clearing extra fuel. I have made...

    New to me won't run

I have disconnected the battery overnight 2X while charging the battery. No change. Also, if the injector is underfueling, why does it start up and run for a few seconds when I pull the EFI fuse? I still think the best guess is flooding.

    New to me won't run

I will get back to it next weekend then. I gave up when I saw the codes, not knowing what they meant. I'll get the airbox off and just trouble shoot as I normally do. Compression, spark, fuel... Started many a fire in the shop that way. Most of the time inside the combustion chamber.

    New to me won't run

I take your suggestions seriously. I did try to start it on rollers with no success. I will give it another try this holiday weekend including pulling the plugs out and cleaning/drying them. So trying to start with low voltage throws codes? That's good to know. I'll keep trying. My...

    New to me won't run

Well, I give up. I went to the dealer and he printed a portion of the manual related to the engine diagnostic code "59" that showed on my instrument cluster with the key on. The info included a way to dig deeper into the coding and I was able to determine that there in fact were 3 diagnostic...

    New to me won't run

Thanks for all the help. No, it still hasn't started and it will start and run for a couple of seconds with the EFI fuse out then just fire once or twice with it in again. It doesn't matter what the throttle position is. It looks like the battery is in need of replacing, but with a deep cycle...

    New to me won't run

I jumped with a deep cycle 12V battery and tried removing the EFI fuse. The bike began to run briefly. With the fuse back in place, the bike only fires once or twice then just cranks over. This confirmed that the EFI is somehow implicated. Probably too rich to start. I'll remove the airbox...

    New to me won't run

No coded key, no mention of recall, yes the side stand plunger is working, yes I tried starting with the clutch pulled in, yes the engine turns over, yes the neutral light is on, no the engine won't fire. I own and have owned motorcycles all my life ranging from a 1926 Indian Scout that I...

    New to me won't run

Just bought a beautiful 2012 Super Tenere and it won't start. Tried jumping the battery but no go. The bike ran fine 2 days including stop and go and highway without trouble. Checked and added fuel, charged battery overnight with a "Genius" charger. Still won't fire. Also, I checked the...
