Gotcha. Thank you for the information. I added grease but think its probably best to replace the bearings with it missing.

Guess this answers my question I was going to ask - no way to get the 3rd bolt out without moving the exhaust? One of the bearings has some of the packed in yellow grease missing (see images). Assuming it’s best to just replace instead of wearing it out over time.

Almost got these on but opted for another set of Pilot Trail 5 tires. Let us know the mileage/thoughts.

Finished replacing seals again this morning. So much quicker the 2nd time around :D 68 mile ride and no oil. Both oil seals were flipped the wrong way. Thank you for everyone’s information!

Use Yamaha seals and did a good job cleaning the forks well before install. Used a glove over the top of the tube to push it over. Definitely will let you know! Going to order new seals today and do it all again :(

So…. Fork seals replaced and I went on a test ride - no leaking. I’m now 330 miles from home and both forks are leaking. Trying to limp home today while stopping to wipe them off as I go (concerned of oil on the front brakes). Hope to make it! My only thoughts on what went wrong is not seating...

I think know where it’s at but I’m in TX and don’t have the time to ride out for the photo.

No spring upgrade and no oil weight changes either. Changed all the seals, etc. while it was apart. Oil was dirtier than I expected. My wrench slipped when tightening the fork cap. Next time I’ll have to replace it. Learned a lot along the way though so that was really valuable.

New throttle cables came in and installed them today. Works perfectly! Thanks for everyone’s help.

Update - removed the air box and disconnected the throttle cables from the throttle body. The return cable is the issue. Throttle snaps back perfectly without it connected. Am I overlooking something with that assessment?

Checked for rust this morning and there is none. Kinda wish there was though and it was fixed :)

2nd owner - first owner didn’t ride it. It’s a 2017 non-ES. Cables are original. The lower cable line (with the adjustment bolt) almost feels to short. Didn’t have that issue until after taking it apart for lube.

Thank you! I plan on working on the bike again tomorrow and will look at those things. Also considering putting more lubrication in until it flows out the bottom. Not sure if that will make a difference or not.
