Hello everybody, just bought my 2013 Super Tenere, I am a short guy and the seat it has is apparently a great seat made by seat concepts, it is really confortable. However, being short it is hard for me to reach the floor safely. I would like to know if any of you recommend a place online to buy the OEM seat, or suggest lowering the bike. I am 5`9", 1,75cm.

Tks a lot.

I am also 5’9”
The stock seat didn’t seem to bad at first but on long rides it became pretty aggravating.
Eventually I bought a used Corbin from a board member, nice seat that definitely made it easier to reach the ground, but the seat was a little to firm so on long rides on rough roads I sometimes had to stop and take a short break, then everything would be fine for awhile, another issue was for some reason that seat was very slippery.
Friend had a Seat Concepts so we traded seats for one tank of gas, I was happy to get my Corbin back.
Then there was a barely used RDL seat for sale very reasonable so I bought it, it was very comfortable but taller and wider than any other seat I had tried, I used it for two years, then decided it was simply to tall and wide for me. Told Tenere Guy I was thinking about selling it and he said he would like to buy it, said he had a newer Corbin that wasn’t slippery so maybe we could trade ? So he rode 300 miles to my house to show me his Corbin and yes it’s definitely not slippery like my first Corbin was and it’s also not as hard, so we traded seats, 400 mile day is the most I’ve done with it so far and it seems to be working very well for me, much easier to reach the ground than with the RDL.

5'-10" ish here with a 31" inseam. I have a Laam seat, narrowed in the front for easier reach to ground. It's still a stretch but workable. IMHO, don't lower the bike. Unless it's done properly, monkeying with the stock geometry destroys the handling.

Watch the classifieds for used seats as they come up quite frequently. For new, on-line retailers are your source. Check out RMATV, Partszilla or many others of your choice.

Good luck!

Here’s an idea.…..buy this saddlemen seat from Amazon. It has a 30 day return policy , try it for a couple of weeks and if it’s not your cup of tea return it. Just to keep me out of hot water verify the policy
Saddleman will raise you up 1/2”+ and will not help if you are struggling with height

Slide the fork tubes up about 1/2” in the triple trees…..it will slightly drop the ride height and quicken the steering. Both are good.

There is a high and low setting for the seat. Have you checked that it is in the low position? I have a 76cm inseam and never felt the bike was too high. You might consider riding it for a while before you think about lowering it. You can use a 25mm lowering kit in the rear and slide the fork tubes up in the triple trees 13mm to maintain stock geometry. It's better to do seat work first, but the stock seat isn't great. You might take your seat to a local upholstery shop first. The Seat Concepts seat is just a cover/foam on the stock seat pan, so a shop removing it and altering it won't be difficult.

First, welcome from Canada.

Like you, I'm kinda vertically challenged @ 5'-7" with 31" inseam. I have a Touretech and an OEM seat. I find the stock seat softer, but about 1/2" higher. It might seem strange, but if I'm on a long trip I'll often set the seat to its high position....better knee angle. IMHO, technique/practice will take you a long way (see Jocelyn Snow). I wouldn't suggest any lowering of suspension...there's really not a lot to spare, especially under its belly and the factory geometry is really good.
