Anybody here from Bosnia & Herzegovina or knowledge about it? I plan to visit this nice country for few days with my wife on my bike in the end of May, most probably coming from Split, Croatia. Although I ride ST, I prefer to stay on paved roads or on solid good quality gravel. So which places to visit, where to stay, what to eat, what to keep in mind, what to avoid? All the regular issues an average bike traveller has to know? We are a couple of around 60, we like modest hiking, but no camping. Good food, clean & comfy accommodation is highly appreciated. All advice and comments are mostly welcome.

I've been riding my S10 in Europe and Asia for the last few years. Being a USA passport holder, I needed green card insurance and B&H was not covered. Not a big deal to buy at border but I also was hearing some military issues of xx not happy with yy in the area. I rode from Turkey to Greece and was planning on visiting B&H but decided to go north into Bulgaria because of that.
I assume you are riding from Estonia so I would say just go. If the roads and accommodations are not what you are looking for, ride east into Serbia, Romania or Bulgaria. Motocamp in Bulgaria is a great pitstop to Maintenace your bike and yourself. They also have bike tours of many roads you may like. I stayed one night and they spent 3 hours helping me plan a route across Turkey to see everything I wanted.
Enjoy the ride.

Many thanks for response.
Yes, I will start my trip on mc from Estonia, but will be windsurfing in Croatia for about a week before by wife flies in and then we want to go discovering B&H. I have been riding all over Europe for 15 years, so in general am very well aware about situations in east and west. Recently I have heard a lot of positive feedback about B&H: friendly people, good food, repainted houses, cheap beer. It is always an advantage to know more from people with experience beforehand.

You haven't lived in the same place for a few years? I assume you are at the stage of life where you are maximizing your enjoyment. I can't afford to ride around for a few years in different countries right now, but it sounds like a nice dream.

I actually work and live in Minnesota. I save all my vacation all year. Work weekends when I can and that gets me 2 months off per year.
Traveling around western Europe is as expensive as USA. Go south to Morocco, prices drop a lot. Go eastern Europe, everything is 1/4 of USA prices. A one time fee to transport your bike (under $2k) and you can go anywhere you want, then store your bike for $15 a month and fly back home. Airfare round trip is $1200-1600.
Traveling in Europe and Asia can be very cheap. If you have thoughts of doing it, go. You will wish you started sooner.

Thank you. I'm already thinking about it. I didn't realize it could actually be that cheap.

Hi.
If you plan to come over Italy too, give me a shout.
I live north east, not too far from Dolomites so to speak.
It would be great to join forces and ride together!
Thanks for inviting, will keep it in mind. In fact, we are still discussing with missus wether we go to B&H or Slovenia-North Italy instead.
