I ordered the Yamaha low seat when I bought the bike. I am 5`6 and I can get all toes on the ground. No drops yet. There is a guy in Florida that can resculpture the seat. I had it done on several bikes. I`ll probably send mine to him this winter. www.greatdaytoride

I went with my son to pick up his new Africa Twin at the Hanover NJ dealer. Turns out to be a Yamaha dealer also. I bought the oil and found out that my FJR calls for a different shaft oil. So, for both, it came out to $34. Not bad for some piece of mind. Great guys at that dealership.

So, the short answer is the Valvoline is ok?

I watched a video on changing the shaft oil. The guy in the video said that the ST calls for a specific oil without any additives. He even explained that there are 2 different Yamalube shaft oils. One with the additives and one without. He was pretty convincing. Any one care to comment? I know...
