yes - for me trimming the tab allowed the seat to go back further allowing the seat to latch - it only took about 1/8 inch for me - I went a little bit at a time
I do not notice it as much. For me the seat sits enough lower that the bars are easier to reach so I naturally sit further back in the "pocket" of the seat
