    Yamaha OEM Heated Grips

I am an absolute klutz when it comes to mechanical/electrical issues on anything including motorcycles. Bought the OEM heated grips and had them on within a couple of hours. Have used them for cold rides through Yosemite and the Sierras without a problem. Very, very warm and completely happy...

Intent to Recall 2012 XTZ12B/BC (“Super Ténéré”) Models

Was just on the National Safety Administrations Vehicle Safety website (www.safercar.gov). You can download three pdf files from Yamaha. One states that letters will be sent out regarding this recall on November 11th. Another show the VINs affected by the recall: XTZ12B are #2-#971 and XTZ12BC...

    Heated grip controler bracket

Hey WASP, can you commet on this? I have bought products from WASP and had no problem with them. If this bracket is actually his design then I am more than willing to pay this cost. I'm also self-employed and fully undestand the costs involved in running a business.

    Yamaha Factory Luggage failure

I have the OEM three bag set. Last weekend I dropped the bike while off-road while with my daughter. No one was hurt as we weren't going all that fast. I ended up with one leg under the bike while she was thrown clean. I have the Altrider crashbars which worked wonderfully. The OEM bag...

WA, ID, MT Ride Sept 16-20

I was planning a ride to Tumwater to visit Gerbins in mid to late September and then running north and east and finally back south to Nevada. Don't know if I can leave that early but will keep in touch if I can. Did the Yellowstone/Glacier/Mt. St. Helens circle years ago and rode most of the way...

    Picture / Video contest

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in having a "picture/video" contest on the forum? Anyone could submit pictures/video in different categories such as; best farkled bike, dirtiest bike, best curvy road (video), etc. I've seen where we are able to vote on other posts and the winner...

    Yamaha decals

Hey Jaxon: Just wanted to let you know that I received the "desert guy" decals that I ordered. They look great and many thanks for shipping so quickly. Will send you some pics after I've put them on. Been a little busy lately piling on miles! Let me know when you have some preliminary...

    OEM Saddlebags

I have them and like them. Keep ice and bottled water in the left bag! Easy to operate the lock mechanism just remember to press down when opening or closing. I keep a spare key in my pocket that I only use to open/close the bags and don't have to use the ignition key. Enjoy them, I have so far.

    Can't ride this thing,

Sorry to hear that you're sick. You have a six-day old little girl! Boy, do I remember those days. My younges is just now turning 15 in a month and she is my motorcycle buddy. Has been on the bike for every ride so far except for the initial one - didn't want her to be a guniea pig on the...

Black ST available in Reno, Nevada

Went to my dealer today in Reno. Only two of us ordered STs here and one backed out and bought a DL1000 (I really feel sorry for that guy!). His was the black Raven. On the floor and up for sale. It's a beautiful bike but looking at it makes me happy I went with the blue. If you're interested...

i must be the only one that HATES farkles

I've been riding the same bike, a 1981 Yamaha XS1100SH, for thirty years now. Put a Vetter Rooster fairing on it when purchased and nothing else. Tired of "stock". I'm going to farkle away on my new ST. Already have orders with Tabasco and Wasp and the radiation stickers are on the way - thanks...

How many miles so far, new owners? And fuel mileage, riding impressions.

Picked my blue baby up late Saturaday afternoon. Drove it around on roads in unbuilt subdivisions (recession is bad here in Reno!) and played with it in parking lots. Love the balance of the bike and able to do some really tight figure 8s at low speed. Very nimble. Took it home due to...
