What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Speaking of painting... I painted the Hepco Becker skid plate on my bike. The stock aluminum finish was okay but stood out too much so the other day while in WalMart I picked up a can of Rust Oleum. I went for a short ride afterwards but didn't notice any horsepower gain.

where did you TAKE your Tenere today?

Since I had installed a new front tire, I needed a test ride. A little ride in the Texas hill country. Needed to try out the wet traction capabilities with a small water crossing.

    Another Cold Hard Start...

Cycledude, regarding popping sounds while slowing down, I would say no or nothing unusual. Mad hatter, I’m in New Braunfels. We should meetup sometime. Twenty seconds would seem like eternity to hold the starter button. The bike typically starts within a few seconds.

    Another Cold Hard Start...

EricV, I installed stock NGK spark plugs. I store the bike in my garage, except for trips, and all hard start issues were after riding all day. No short startups and then shut down. No battery tender since I ride the bike almost daily and, such as my recent trip, all day long. Normally, bike...

    Another Cold Hard Start...

Bike is a 2017 non ES model and resides in the Texas hill country area. First time the bike didn't start was on a cold day, approximately 50 degrees F. Bike had almost 24k miles with receiving only oil and filter changes. I pushed the starter button a few times and heard it fire but wouldn't...

Experience of a Bias Front Tire

FYI. I needed a front tire while on a trip in Canada. The only tire available in stock was a Dunlop "Harley Davidson" tire which happened to be biased and not radial. Also, slightly different in size; 100/90-19 versus stock size of 110/80R-19. I determined new tread was better than no tread so I...

    Wondering in Mexico

Garrydymond, thank you for continuing to share your adventures. Also, congratulations on the granddaughter. Regarding your case, probably a combination of the plastic hardening along with fatigue. If caught earlier, you could have stopped drilled the cracks and added some reinforcement such as...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

A few weeks ago I installed a lowering link and raised the forks to lower the bike approximately a little less than an inch. Afterwards, I noticed the bike didn't lean as far on the sidestand. However, the other day while examining the sidestand I noticed the foot or pad didn't touch flat on the...

Crash Bar Shootout - What do you like, what do you think is crap?

Madhatter, good description on how to do a U-turn. Unfortunately, I recently messed up. Fortunately the only damage was to the left stock Yamaha guard; some gouges. And the gear shift lever was bent, which I was able to bend back. I fully expected more damage so was pleasantly surprised...

Crash Bar Shootout - What do you like, what do you think is crap?

Darn, I like the simple approach of the MASTECH P/N 103.009 as mentioned earlier in this thread but they are out of stock until 2020...
