I have the Brooks topcase. It didnt quite fit with the brooks top rack. I had to go buy bolts (the ones they sent were too short) and I may have had to drill a hole.
It has served me well. It seems strong and hasn't leaked.
The way it attaches/locks to the rack is a little funky. Its...
I was never quite happy with my ram x mount on a galaxy s6 phone (yes, 5 years old now). It was ok at first but after a few years it seemed like the spring wasnt as strong and it started slipping down a little and turning my volume down or phone off. I got one of the ram plastic plate mount...
Sometimes I carry one of the racheted nylon moving strap things like that has. I wrapped it around a tree once to help pull it up kind of like in the video, except sideways and uphill. I dont know, I kind of see that post he's using slipping or flipping around so that I would have good video...
So, here they are at 3 months and 5000 miles. Retired this set last week, I would have liked to replace them a week or two before that. I tried to run them at yamaha specs (33 and 42).
Probably 2500 of the 5k was lanesplit commuting (near san fran - east bay), 2000 super slab, 500 dirt and...
It's looking like most of the Sierra passes are open for the summer of 2019. I think pieces of 89 near lassen, and 120 through Yosemite are the last. Not much snow west of Lee Vining, another week or two and I'd guess 120 will be open too. http://www.caltrans.ca.gov/hq/roadinfo/mtnhwys.htm
I use a few drops of triflow on the parts that rub against each other and work it in. I only have to re-apply about once or twice a year. I've been doing this for about 8 years and 4 to 5 pairs of boots, haven't ruined plastic or leather (yet).
Getting on to where the passes might be opening soon. Still a decent amount of snow on 108 and 4. Anyone up for putting something together this summer?
I am NOT happy with my Samsung Galaxy S6 (yes, 4 years old) and the Ram X mount. It either turns my volume down or turns my phone off about once every 3 rides.
Hi Eric, question about the "Pop" you describe.
Is this like an electrical pop or a combustion pop or something else?
-- After re-reading your post I think you are describing more of a combustion pop, right? Although I think mine was popping like this all along, it sounded like it was really...
Update, Got home after letting it sit for about 4 hours.
Decided to try a normal start first (a short one as I was a little concerned about the battery after having cranked it for a total of several minutes this morning), didnt start.
Twisted the throttle all the way, pushed the button and...
My 2017 wouldnt start this morning.
Had to go to work so I took the cage. I'll probably be able to skip out a bit early today and mess with it. I washed it saturday, sounds a lot like Eric V's description.
Rather than having to take out the FI fuse, etc, isn't the flooded situation from...
I have the broken switch. With mine, if I push up or down or in or even to the right if I am off the gas it will switch between modes. Sometimes it switches by itself, I assume going over a bump or something like that. My workaround to not having it randomly switch on it's own is to stay on...
Mine is the switch. I noticed that if I jiggle the switch (like a little up or down or right pressure) it switches modes. I figured out thats its a lot easier to check while stopped with power on (or idling).
I've always been a bit hard on that switch I'm probably lucky that I got...
