My new to me ST 14' came with a heavy clutch action. I took the lever out, cleaned and greased everything and now feel way lighter. Also, do not install shorty levers, this clutch works way better with the EOM levers.

Is the YTZ14S the recommended one? Just checked (because I need to get a new battery) and Yuasa recommends the YTZ12S. I have a ST 2014 model.
