    Bike won't start

Many Garmin power supply cords have a sigificant parasitic draw. Mine goes through a switched fuse box to help avoid this. But both my bikes keep a Battery Tender Jr. attached when parked. (Though suspect not really needed for the DR.

Fork Seal Failure Report: Anyone Else?

I had a full-on fork seal failure brought about apparently by a big scratch on the fork tube. It was in the middle of a long trip and I had more than 25K miles on the bike. Shop got my in quickly, fixed it completely, loaned me a bike for the day, and charged, what seemed to me, a pretty high...

Rick and Cogent Dynamics has an excellent reputation in the DR650 community as well. Thanks.

    Fork an shock spring upgrade

I just upgraded the springs on my DR650 to excellent effect, so I suspect the S10 is getting new suspenders soon. I’m debating between getting a set of weight-specific springs vs. the progressive set that Touratech sells. Anyone with experience with the Touratech progressive springs want to...

Crash bars for a tall guy

6' 2" with 36" inseam. Very happy with the Givi bars. Had a tipover while releasing bike from tiedowns on a ferry across Lake Michigan. The highway pegs attached to the bars got bent up a little, but everything the bars were supposed to protect in a tipover were protected. Have other AltRider...

What Seat Do You Have On Your Yamaha Super Tenere ?

I have a Laam seat that I'm happy with for the price. I suspect I will break down and get an RDL at some point. When I needed my seat a couple years ago an RDL build date was not available on my timeline.

    Aux Fuel Tank

I'm contemplating adding a Maple Farkles cell from IBPete mounted to an AltRider pillion luggage rack to replace the RotoPax cell I'm currently carrying. I headed up to the Yukon and over to Hyder this summer and want to have a bit more capacity.

    Traction control off !

    well, obviously not me.

    Traction control off !

In some countries I'm sure Honda did include ABS, but not in the United States.

    Traction control off !

Nothing like a good high side to convince a person of the value of ABS. But again, I feel no need to convince anyone else. I thought long and hard about buying a Honda F6B this time around. Lack of available ABS was among the reasons I didn't pull the trigger. (Still have "lust in my heart"...

    Traction control off !

At the risk of being uncool, TC and ABS were among the reasons I bought my S10. I had a wreck on my Wee Strom that likely could have been prevented by antilock breaks, and I have had a couple of close calls in the past that could have been mitigated by TC. I don't suggest that others need to...

Is it just me to take notice with KLR riders?

I've owned two KLRs over the last 14 years, and both of them had larger front sprockets. Let me tell you - if you are on western Interstares, it takes all your attention to keep moving with traffic - especially with all the semis around. KLR riders are an eclectic group. I wouldn't read...

    LAAM seat...insight(s)...

Langolier, where did you get your sheepskin? I really like how it fits on your seat. Seth can be very frustrating to communicate with. So far, I'm reasonably happy with my saddle, though after about 400 miles a day it is a little uncomfortable. It's better with the basic sheepskin I've got.
