I have dropped the bashplate and it's still there . The noise seems to be worse now I am riding with the bike fully loaded. I think I might drop it to the yamaha dealer when I get home from my trip and ask him to get 1 of the techos to ride it home and have a listen.

I took the bash plate off it's still there I don't think it's from the shaft it more sounds like from under the tank or the right side

Yes it does seems to be worse loaded though
