I have a 23 with just over 3800 odd miles and mine are like new. I don't off-road mine at all and I wipe my whole bike down after each ride, so that is probably a factor in not having my spokes with corrosion.
I mounted my Givi crash bars, I really like them. Next is to get my Garmin XT wired into my bike. Perhaps later this month or early next. I like how they provide protection but are not too big.
Which harness and light control did you install with the lights? I'm also looking at getting a set of these for my ST1200. Did the standard hardware fit onto your crash bars or did you need to purchase some other mounting hardware? Thanks.
Hi All,
When heading out on my Sun morning ride yesterday, I noticed I had to put a lot more effort into moving the gear shifter with my foot. I've never noticed this before and on my 200 mile ride yesterday, I just rolled over 2K miles. Any suggestion on lubrication I could do to try combat...
My local Yamaha dealer mentioned when shooting the sh^t that they have another ST12 customer who rides 12K miles a year and he swears by them and its the only tire he uses. Personally, my bike only has just over 2K miles on it so still on the OEM tires but I will give these a try when I need...
The cases look great. What size are they? Is it 22 litres? I like the dark shield as it provides some shielding from the sun here in Texas, if riding into it. I also look over the shield and not through it so no impact to riding it at night. Last but not least, it looks good on our grey bikes. :)
On Sat I installed a set of the Givi engine guards on my ST1200. I liked these as they are not too big and still provide good coverage. It took me about an hour and a quarter to install. I'm very happy the way they turned out and look on the bike.
I purchased my 23 in Sept of 2023. Of the three dealers in my area that sell Yamaha's only one had one ST1200 left. They are not my fav dealer and I don't service my bike there even though they are the closest. They offered me the ST1200 for $15899 which was a good deal, down from the $16299...
