The box was perfect.
It may have just been one of those manufacturing process deals where it warped and got by somehow.
For all I know, it could've survived being clamped down in the airbox without breaking before I tested it.
Hiflofiltro has some pretty high standards, yet like anything, stuff...
Caught myself going 70mph on a dirt road on an unchaperoned demo ride!
Found out the ABS is handy and the TC works on that run, too.;)
I ordered a new ST that very day and have enjoyed every mile since I got mine 9/4/12.
Dealer bought the demo bike for himself and then did THIS to it.
Rednecks...
OCD me :)rolleyes:) went back and pulled the airbox lid and had a better look at what holds the filter element in place.
The lid has a ridge that presses downward on the filter about 3/4 of the way around. (red line drawn on the bottom side of the filter in the photo).
That in itself should keep...
Borrowing SkunkWorks' image from above, I ran into a glitch with a HiFlo air filter today.
The triangle area below the red line was angled upward more of the HiFlo than the OEM filter.
When I tried to see if it would flex downward, I heard the sickening snap of plastic cracking.
It didn't break...
